Ok, “thanks but no thanks”… I suggest to add this feature (batch add whitelisted domains) but it’s not “critical”.
Unless it goes throught over 80 domains par batch…

Oke, in that case it may be feasible to use the POP3 connector until a better solution is found

Allow Anydesk throught WebFilter/Proxy

NethServer Version: 7.5.1804
Module: Web Content Filter

Firewall enviroment, Red and Green network interfaces.
Transparent proxy with SSL on Green.

2 filters configured:
Filter 1: unlimited access
Filter 2: access allowed only to whitelisted domains, plus a couple of categories from Université Toulouse BlackList (remote-control, update)

Client which rely on filter 1 cannot be accessed via AnyDesk, as was before enabling the transparent proxy.
I tried also to allow the IP Addresses associated with Anydesk that i found on the squid access.log. Hope this will help someone.

176.9.17.73
217.182.197.144
194.71.18.111
5.9.105.232
176.9.65.111
domain “anydesk.com” was already whitelisted
No proxy setup on the anydesk software

How can i enable webfilter/proxy to allow connection? Anyone managed this kind of issue before?

DNSSEC? DoH? Useless features?

There are no “secret” i can agree, but the integrity and the trustfulness of the information is quite necessary today…

Into DNS Servers are now publicly readable some policies related to mail delivery, public keys, expire time. Now Internet is the backbone of the data for most civil world, not a happy party for few and tech-conscious people.

Therefore, DoH and DNSSEC are proposing to avoid data forgery and MITM attacks, at least among other things.
RFC about DNSSEC are already public (according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_Name_System_Security_Extensions) and are running on the public internet (IpFire rely on DNSSec and looks for data validation), DoH is still experimental, according to wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNS_over_HTTPS
but by my perspective there’s a “flaw” into DoH concept: is built by organization that designs internet browser, and only this kind of application.

I don’t think that Google and Mozillla Foundation are newbyes but… maybe they look for only the own needs, not a network related needs…

Hi @pike,
I think you have to bypass it with firewall rules.

Web server module use and documentation

Nethserver supports serving web pages and should be secure. I recommend to additionally use letsencrypt certificates. It should be no problem to add shopping systems. If the sites use php higher than 5.4 you may have a look at the php-scl module. You may also need the mariadb server from the software center if a mysql database is needed.

One way is to use the default virtual host and to put your site to /var/www/html/ via ftp client like gftp or filezilla or (win)scp. Your site will then be shown instead of the Nethserver default page.
You may use an ftp user or enable the default user of the default virtualhost in the virtualhost settings to upload files via ftp:

grafik

Another way is to use a virtual host, create your virtualhost with your domain and enable FTP access for it. If you use a virtualhost the Nethserver default page will only be shown if clients don’t use YOURDOMAIN.TLD.

Then you may upload files via ftp with user “yourhost” or via scp, the site is located in /var/lib/nethserver/vhost/yoursite

As FTP is a very old protocol using cleartext passwords, I recommend to disable FTP if not used or use scp instead.

I love stats about as much as I love a hole in my head… However this could describe certain groups of people as well

Running Nethserver behind a Nginx reverse proxy server, cannot upload big files to nextcloud

$

NethServer Version: 7.5.1804 (final)
Module: your_module

Webpage gives no error message, just stops uploading. Logs in nextcloud show nothing

I’ve set client_max_body_size 0; on the Nginx Reverse Proxy. So no problems there, also checked nginx error logs. Shows nothing related to this. Can upload large files to other webservices running on other servers.

However the httpd error log in Nethserver shows:
AH02018: request body exceeds maximum size (131072) for SSL buffer
AH02257: could not buffer message body to allow SSL renegotiation to proceed

Is there anyway around this? Can I set nextcloud to run on just http instead of https (I have a valid letsencrypt cert on nginx reverse proxy)

Or is there something else I could do?

Regards,
Adam

Perhaps you could have a look with wireshark or an other network tool if there some more addresses to exclude.

This is not what i call “best practice”, however that this option disabled

ran the river to the sea.

But that’s not a solution…

NethServer Version: curent
Module: open vpn.

I have configured nethserver as a vpn server, but there is something I can not understand.
I followed the guides on the page https://wiki.nethserver.org/doku.php?id=howto:howto_set_up_a_vpn
My ip address remains the same, instead of it changing to the ip address of the server.
is there something I have configured wrongly.

I am able to connect via OpenVPN client on my windows machine
